Registered Specialist (Periodontist) – AHPRA # DEN0002026809

Dr Diny is a specialist periodontist and research scholar. Dr Diny has recently completed his specialist qualification (Doctor of Clinical Dentistry) in Periodontics from Griffith University. Earlier, he attained his clinical PhD in Oral implantology from the University of Otago, New Zealand. Dr Diny has also worked as a Senior lecturer at the School of Dentistry and Health Sciences, Charles Sturt University, NSW, Australia for over 2 and a half years. Dr Diny has polished over 30 research papers in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Diny holds several distinctions and academic and research awards.

Earlier, after graduating from Pakistan, he moved to Cape Town South Africa, where he did his Postgraduate Diploma and Master degree with cum laude in oral surgery. Dr Diny then completed two fellowships in Cranio-Maxillofacial & Oral Surgery from Germany from the International Association of Bone Research at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University, and AO Cranio- Maxillofacial from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in 2008 and 2009 respectively.

Dr Diny’s recent research has shown that patients with diabetes mellitus lack knowledge of the bidirectional association between periodontal disease and diabetes mellitus. In this regard, Dr Diny has conducted a series of studies that have urged that medical-healthcare professionals and dentists should consider every patient as a shared responsibility. In addition, oral health should be integrated with routine diabetes care to optimise the quality of care of patients living with DM. Dr Diny has conducted several oral health awareness programs.
